Fifth Form - 90m, U S A

Set during the First Gulf War, Fifth Form is a dark comedy about a prank war that escalates along ethnic lines in a small boys’ dorm of an elite prep school. The story tracks the coming of age of Josh Schuster, a new fifth former, who, while navigating the house cliques, finds that he has become the catalyst of the conflict.

CAMFBF (Crazy Ass Mo Fo B*tches and Hos) - 4m, USA

CAMFBH (Crazy Ass Mofo B*tches and Hos) is a music video for the Chicago based trio, The Makeouts. It fits a rare genre, in that it simultaneously satirizes and pays homage to mainstream rap music and videos. After viewing, many have said they found themselves singing the repetitious and catchy chorus to the song days later, to their own embarrassment.

 

Perfect Obsession - 2m, Canada

A woman’s undivided love for her car and relentless quest for perfection reach new heights.

 

STUCK - 11m, U S A

While stuck in an elevator, two people discover the most intimate things about each other...that anything can happen.

 

The Sky Has Fallen - 72m, U S A

In a post-apocalyptic world, a new disease wipes out almost all of mankind within a couple of hours. Trying to avoid infection, people flee to remote locations, but they start seeing mysterious black figures carrying away the dead and experimenting on them. Now, Lance and Rachel, two survivors determined to fight back, must kill the leader of these creatures before the rest of humanity disappears.

There is a Filipino tradition that says amulets offer special powers from God. However the devout Catholics frown on belief in such trinkets and idols. In a family's (the Barkada) quest for power, a resentful demon poses as an amulet to do his evil biddings.

Pulse - 3m, Canada

‘Pulse’ the music video directed by Steve Cosmic brings creativity and compelling visuals to the vision of the artist, Dianca Denay, and the song ‘Pulse’,. This single is the 5th song to be released on Dianca’s upcoming debut album entitled ‘Halo’ - currently in production. The video and song is a metaphor of surviving against all odds and overcoming adversity.

 

Habits - 3m, U S A

People’s behaviors are driven by their memories and obsessions. Their obsessions dictate their actions and their actions reinforce their obsessions in a never-ending cycle. My film is an exploration of people's habitual behaviors as a reflection of their mental status. In my work, three people with no cause to feel unease behave in peculiar ways in order to escape their misgivings.

 

Soaring Roaring Diving - 6m, Canada, New Zealand

'Soaring Roaring Diving' is an animated film that intertwines drawing, Super8 footage, collage, and 2D and 3D animation, with a textured soundtrack that employs both music and found sounds. Miriam Harris as animator, and Juliet Palmer as composer, worked closely together, aiming for a sequence in which sound and image are organically intertwined. The film is about personal journeying, coping with grief and loss, and ultimately resurfacing, together with themes of childhood memories, summer in the South Pacific, the metaphors of swimming and diving, and the proverbial glass half-full or half-empty question.

 

Nothing Like Her - 7m, Canada

3D animation, stop motion and digital paint-on-glass techniques combine in this short film-within-a-film about how a disabled animator's understanding of her life and work change after she suffers a miscarriage.

 

Van Go! - 11m, Canada

'Van Go!' is an action comedy short film about the fictional artist Van Go! and his adventures into the night. Created with the use of minatures and models combined with green screen photography, 'Van Go!' makes a stylized world of action and fun. 

 

Mitzi & Mencken - 14m, U S A

In 1948, painter Mitzi Swan was arrested for playing interracial tennis. Her arrest and trial became the subject of H. L. Mencken’s last Baltimore Sun article. This film tells the story.

 

Hineni's Triumph of the Spirit - 21m, U S A

'Hineni's Triumph of the Spirit' is the shocking and courageous auto-biographical account of Rebbetzin Esther Jungreis' survival as a child terrorized by the Holocaust. Her inner-strength founded on faith, love and traditional Judaism led her to become a world-renowed author and speaker whose universal message of hope has inspired hundreds of thousands.

 

MUERTOS QUE HABLAN, VIVOS QUE CALLAN (TALKING DEAD, SILENT LIVING) - 29m, Spain

Monica, a Spanish journalist, investigates Ziryab´s life, the great Iraqi musician born in 789 and visits a family of Arab musicians who claim to be descendent of his and that they can prove it, but they are scared by a curse.

3 young people who hang out at a video store and what happens to them. Shot painstakingly on out-moded U-matic video equipment from 1983.

 

The ProtoTypes - 42m, U S A

A TV news reporter Vicky accidentally meets an alien who gives her the power to get anything she wants… as long as she can figure out how to ask for it. Vicky and her Cameraman Bill evade Federal agents, a nasty boss, and an ego driven scientist. When the entire planet may be destroyed by a calculation error… only Vicky can save

the world.

A ghost walks and remembers within a decaying house.

 

Trickery Mimicry - 80m, U S A

Two travelers take refuge on a farm after car trouble leaves them without transportation. The man who inhabits the farm provides shelter and a phone because past events bind them together. As time passes the man offers insight to one of the travelers furthering awareness of the future they all must choose.
